Tales of the Open Ocean: Adventures at Sea

August 25, 2022 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Please join us for this special presentation as marine scientist-explorer-photographer-filmmaker-
author Gaelin Rosenwaks takes us on a journey around the world. From satellite tagging
Bluefin Tuna in the Western Atlantic Ocean to drilling ice cores in the frozen Bering Sea to the
bottom of the Blue Hole in Belize, she will show us cutting-edge scientific research being
conducted to understand the complexity of our ocean ecosystems. Driven by her academic
background in marine science and conservation, Gaelin hopes to heighten people’s awareness
and sense of responsibility to preserve the health of our planet. By employing photography and
video to document her exploration, she hopes to inspire people to appreciate the beauty of our
oceans and natural world. Throughout, Gaelin will touch on the themes of courage, curiosity and
finding your passion. Her book, SPERM WHALES: GENTLE GOLIATHS OF THE OCEANS, will
be published by Rizzoli in October.

This lecture is FREE with Lighthouse admission.
